Reception Dress Code for Hollywood Glamour

Reception:

So you have your invitation and have marked the date, September 14, 2013. 

A confirmation email has been sent (lacaunette42@yahoo.com) and you are starting to think about what to wear.

With a theme of Hollywood glamour the reception party will be full of beautiful shiny, sparkling guests! 

 So where to get the inspiration for your outfit? Well look no further for all your ideas as there are plenty here to chose from!

With some ideas on the invitation already, and you would like more ideas or clarification let me just confirm that this party is not for cartoon characters or superheroes.

I refer you all to some very glamorous movies such as listed below and some very glamorous outfits worn by the famous in these pictures.

So many choices so there is something for everyone. Remember to enjoy the search and inspiration as it will be all worth it on the night.

• The Great Gatsby (all versions) - flapper style
• Pretty Woman (that red dress was a stunner)
• Bond movies (all versions of a Mr Bond in a tux)
• The Oscars - any year as all actors look very glamorous on this night of nights
• Satin, brooches or statement earrings, coiffed hair a la Kate Winslet Oscars 2009, red lipstick...maybe even gloves?
• Breakfast at Tiffany's - long black dress with pearls and gloves
• Fingerwaves in your hair - think Rita Hayworth in Gilda

• If you don't feel like wearing a dress you could try channeling Katharine Hepburn or Marlene Dietrich. For Katharine Hepburn you could wear a crisp white shirt tucked into high waisted trousers. Wear your hair parted to the side and waved and put on some red lipstick and mascara. For Marlene Dietrich think of a 1930s style Le Smoking look.
